Justice for Our Neighbors - Iowa provides free legal services to low-income immigrants as they try to follow the complicated immigration laws and processes to obtain and retain their legal status in the United States. The group works to strengthen advocacy for immigrants in their churches, in their communities, and with their representatives in government.

The University of Iowa Center for Human Rights (UICHR), founded in 1999, is a direct outgrowth of Global Focus: Human Rights '98, a year-long University of Iowa commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights of 10 December 1948.
